Game of Thrones Film Locations Tour

A fully guided Game of Thrones tour that directly connects the mythology and turbulent history of the film locations to the award winning series itself!

Game of Thrones features many stunning locations from across Northern Ireland. The locations seen and visited on this tour can certainly be described as stunning! Northern Ireland has proved to be the perfect setting for this epic story with its rugged coastline, historic castles and breathtaking scenery fitting the series perfectly. This is an all day tour which takes in the best of the Game of Thrones filming locations on the beautiful North Antrim coast.  The tour also links the fascinating history and mythology of the area to the series itself which makes it as appealing to the casual viewer as it obviously is to the dedicated fans.

Carrickfergus Castle

The pageantry and chivalry of the time combined with the changes brought by the Norman lords make this castle a close link to the era in which the series is set. The real sieges, murders and executions that took place in that brutal time also make this incredible piece of medieval stonework a must see location.

Carnlough Cranny Falls

In stark contrast to the rugged terrain in this area, this beautiful coastal fishing village is an ideal setting to relax but also to take time to barter with the local merchants!  Carnlough’s picturesque limestone harbour was a less than secret film location right up to series six. That is when not all was revealed!

Cushendun Caves

Take time to explore one of Melisandre’s favourite haunts!  Locals say that the shadows of the past and the odd Banshee still inhabit this ancient place. The entrance to the remarkable Cushendun caves is usually as far as our coach can go. However should you choose to enter, remember that “the night is still dark and full of terrors…”

Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge

This is your opportunity to visit Renly’s war camp in the Stormlands.  This disused limestone quarry is where Brienne of Tarth fought Ser Loras of the Flowers and is also where Lord Peter Bailish presents Catelyn Stark with an unusual gift. The Carrickarede rope bridge is also within walking distance of this location so if you want to ‘kill two birds with one stone’ feel free but if you do, remember “What is dead can never die”

Giants Causeway

The Game of Thrones series thrives on the impressive and the unlikely and the causeway is exactly that.  The more than impressive 40,000 columns would be and have been in the past, the perfect setting for dragons, giants and fairies.  Between Game of Thrones and the Giants Causeway, they have them all…

Dark Hedges

What an incredible draw ‘The Dark Hedges’ has been!  This location appeared on screen for just 35 seconds but in that short time it has captured the hearts and entered the dreams of millions of people around the world!  Some who have  never even seen the series! By taking the Kings Road out of the capital, many did escape the scheming and duplicity of  city life. But beware, for in these “Dark Hedges” even the Red Woman’s not safe from the ghost of the Grey Lady, now appearing here to so many ….
